Quantex is proud to announce that it is working in partnership with PSG Biotech’s well-established pump brand, Quattroflow, to develop its growth within the biopharmaceutical industry. At the same time, Quantex also declares that it is not seeking any new pump solutions for medical market applications.
PSG Biotech launched on March 31, 2023, combining and expanding PSG’s comprehensive portfolio of biotechnology flow control solutions under one roof, and Quattroflow and Quantex – both pump brands of PSG, a Dover corporation – have been working in partnership to develop Quantex’s game-changing pump solutions for the biopharma sector. PSG Biotech’s Quattroflow brand is a leading and established biopharma industry pump provider and, using its wealth of experience, the Quattroflow team is working to ensure that the Quantex technology meets the required biopharma regulations. Later this year, Quattroflow will launch a new line of pumps that will be called the Quattroflow QB range. The QB pumps will enable Quattroflow to offer a game-changing solution to lower flow and microdosing biopharma applications in smaller scale upstream, laboratory and cell & gene therapy areas.
The Quattroflow story dates back to the 1990s, however, it was after its acquisition by PSG in 2011 that the company grew substantially and it moved into the Almatec manufacturing facility located in Kamp-Lintfort, Germany, with 2,200 m² of production and office space. The businesses continued to grow which prompted another move to its current Duisburg facility in 2018, providing roughly 70% more space, including a much larger manufacturing capacity and state-of-the-art ISO Class 7 cleanrooms. Quantex has also recently moved its head office and a portion of its manufacturing to the same location to benefit from these top-grade facilities.
PSG Biotech develops and manufactures Quattroflow single-use and multiple-use quaternary (four-piston) diaphragm pumps for critical applications in the biopharma industry. These best-in-class pumps can be found and used in many areas of bioprocessing, including buffer and media preparation, bioreactors, centrifugation, depth filtration, chromatography, inline buffer formulation, cross-flow filtration (CFF) and tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems, virus filtration and bulk filling. Quattroflow pumps also ensure the safe, efficient and reliable handling of biologics such as plasma products, therapeutic proteins, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines and other high-value products.
With over 20+ years of experience during a period where the biopharma industry grew and evolved rapidly from its infancy, the Quattroflow team has been listening hard to its customers and continuously developing pump technology to suit the market’s changing needs. It, therefore, makes perfect sense to place the Quantex technology for biopharma in PSG Biotech’s domain under the Quattroflow’s team’s expert guidance. Quantex has, therefore, removed any reference on the Quantex website to its works within biopharma markets to help aid the transition for potential customers to PSG Biotech.
Quantex will continue to build its refill, food and beverage and consumer and industrial market solutions.
