As part of the Neptune® commitment to providing its customers with reliable, safe and efficient end-to-end solutions for water and wastewater treatment applications, Neptune has designed its By-Pass Feeders to be easily converted into Filter Feeders. With Filter
Bag Kits containing a 30-micron filter bag, filter bag frame and one connection tubing, all VTF and DBF Series By-Pass Feeders (up to 10 gallons in size) can be quickly transformed into Filter Feeders with the following steps:
- Add Teflon tape and piping dough into the inlet side of the By-Pass Feeder.
- Insert connection tubing into the inlet side of the By-Pass Feeder. Thread in the connection tubing and then tighten it with a wrench. Note: While looking inside the By-Pass Feeder opening, insert the connection tubing and make sure the end of the
tubing remains vertical and centered.
- Insert the filter frame inside of the filter bag and then adjust the drawstring on the filter bag to tighten around the filter frame base. Secure it by tying a knot.
- Insert the filter bag into the tank. Note: Be sure the filter frame base aligns with the connection tubing.
- Thread the cap onto the top of the tank and tighten to close. Note: The cap will keep the frame and filter bag in place.
After completing these steps, your Neptune By-Pass Feeder is ready to be used as a Filter Feeder. Watch this video to see a Neptune product specialist demonstrate this conversion
process.
